About MasterWovenSilk
MasterWovenSilk is a small independent studio in China creating handmade hair accessories, brooches, earrings, pendants, and other small objects from Song brocade.
A small studio, not a factory
Every piece is finished by hand in small quantities. We select the textile, decide how the woven motif will appear on the finished object, cut the material, and assemble the accessory ourselves. Our aim is not to make every item look mechanically identical, but to let the textile keep its individual character.
Why each piece is different
Song brocade is filled with repeating flowers, geometric structures, and layered color. When the fabric is cut for a small accessory, each cut captures a different part of the larger composition. A sold design can often be made again, but its pattern placement may not be exactly the same.
Our materials
Our material selection includes Song brocade connected with the work and weaving traditions of respected practitioners including Qian Xiaoping, Lu Meiying, Zhou Shuangxi, and Qian Jianguo. MasterWovenSilk is an independent maker and does not claim to represent or be officially affiliated with these artists or their studios.
Made for today
We want this textile heritage to be worn and enjoyed in daily life—not kept at a distance. The result is a collection of useful, giftable pieces that combine traditional woven detail with simple contemporary forms.
